PERFECT TIME TO VISIT

  1. Bali has two seasons: dry and wet. The dry season lasts from May to September, with warm sunny days and an average temperature of 30oC.
  2. The wet season lasts from October to April, and while it is still warm and sunny, it is distinguished by sporadic downpours that appear seemingly out of nowhere.
  3. It is entirely up to you and your preferences when you visit Melasti Bali during the day.
  4. Early morning sunrise strolls, daytime sunbathing in the hot sun, late afternoon sunset strolls, really, any time is a good time.
  5. This beach is easily accessible due to recent road development and is quickly becoming increasingly popular with visitors. Despite the weekend crowds, it's a fantastic place to spend the day relaxing.
  6. Travel Tip: If you want to avoid crowds and have this beach mostly to yourself, the earlier you arrive, the better.

WHERE CAN I FIND MELASTI BEACH?

Melasti is located on the Bukit Peninsula in the Ungasan region and is thus better known as Melasti Beach Ungasan Bali.

Uluwatu Temple is also nearby, as are several other well-known Uluwatu beaches!

When you arrive, make a point of stopping at one of the viewpoints along the winding road that winds through the tall, impressive limestone cliffs to take in the breathtaking views!

ENTRANCE FEE FOR PANTAI MELASTI

  • When visiting Pantai Melasti, you must pay an entrance fee of 10.000 IDR at the ticketing booth when you arrive.
  • Additional fees will apply if you are visiting for a wedding, photoshoot, or other special event.

HOW TO GET MELASTI BEACH?

If you are staying in the Uluwatu area, I recommend renting a scooter and driving over to Melasti Bali.

If you're coming from Kuta, Seminyak, or Canggu, it'll take you about an hour to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

Do you lack confidence when riding a scooter? Another excellent way to get around Bali is to hire a private car and driver for the day and explore everything the island has to offer.

FACILITIES AT MELASTI BEACH

  • Melasti Beach's recent improvements have provided visitors with more convenient amenities.
  • On-site restrooms, showers, and changing rooms are available. A convenience store, several small Warungs (local eateries), and a large parking lot are also available to beachgoers.
  • Bring cash for drinks and snacks, as well as your camera, swimmers, a towel, and plenty of sunscreen.

MELASTI BEACH ACTIVITIES

Pantai Melasti Bali is mostly visited by people who want to spend the entire day at the beach. Apart from swimming in the calm, turquoise water of the Indian Ocean, there are few options for water sports.

It is one of Bali's cleanest beaches and the ideal place to unwind and soak up some Bali sun. Pantai Melasti is divided into three sections. During low tide, small rockpools form along the middle part of the shoreline, providing an ideal place to cool off.

This draws the most visitors, but I also recommend visiting the eastern and western parts. A naturally formed cape of limestone can be found on the east, and the best place to see the sunset is on the west.

The beach is surrounded by cliffs, and if you look closely, you'll notice several viewpoints with breathtaking views of the ocean. A newly constructed arena will also host local ceremonies and performances such as the Melasti Kecak Dance.

RESTAURANTS ON MELASTI BEACH

Melasti beach

There are several Warungs (small local restaurants) near the beach where you can get a quick, delicious meal and a fresh coconut for a low price! If you want something a little fancier, La Palmilla Beach Club, a luxury day club with VIP beach services, a swimming pool, cabanas, and a thriving bar, is a must-see.

You can also walk along the shoreline to the west and visit Karma Beach Club, which has a day-club-style restaurant and bar right on the water!

SUMMARY

Melasti Beach is one of Bali's most beautiful white sandy beaches along the island's southern shoreline, and the stunning scenery makes it well worth a visit. The drive down the winding road right through the tall cliff will provide you with breathtaking views! Melasti Bali will undoubtedly take your breath away with its sheer beauty, and it is just one of the many reasons why the Island of Gods has become such a popular vacation destination for visitors from all over the world.
